On June 20, the groundbreaking ceremony for the China-aided Nauru Sports Center project was held in Menen District, Nauru. Over 100 people attended, including Chinese Ambassador to Nauru Lyu Jin, President of Nauru David Adeang, Speaker of Parliament and President of the Olympic Committee Marcus Stephen, Minister for Sports Maverick Eoe, Minister for Health Charmaine Scotty, Deputy Minister for Sports Delvin Thoma, Deputy Speaker and Vice Minister Isabella Dageago, as well as permanent secretaries of government departments.
