On June 29, Chinese Ambassador to Naoero Lyu Jin attended, at the invitation of the Naoeroan side, an event commemorating Naoero’s Remembrance Day. President David Adeang, Speaker of Parliament Marcus Stephen, Cabinet ministers, Members of Parliament, government officials, and representatives of war survivors also attended the event. Ambassador Lyu said that, having suffered from Japanese militarism, China deeply empathizes with the people of Naoero. He added that China stands ready to work with Naoero to remember history, cherish peace, pursue development, and build a better future together.
