On the evening of November 21, with clear skies and a gentle sea breeze, the Chinese Embassy in Nauru held a ceremony to mark the official opening of its new embassy chancery. The event was attended by Nauru's President David Adeang, Minister for Foreign Affairs Lionel Aingimea, Minister for Public Utilities Bernicke, Minister for Fisheries Aliklik, Minister for Phosphate Mines Thoma, Deputy Minister Dageago, as well as senior officials from various Nauru government departments, key state-owned enterprises, representatives from Nauru China Friendship Association, Nauru Chamber of Commerce, Nauru National Youth Council, Nauru Secondary School, a delegation from Guangzhou visiting Nauru, Chinese enterprises in Nauru, and overseas Chinese representatives, totaling nearly 300 people.
