From May 29 to June 1, 2026 local time, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Secretary of the Central Political and Legal Affairs Commission of the CPC Chen Wenqing paid a visit to Kazakhstan. During the visit, Chen Wenqing met separately with Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Gizat Nurdauletov, Mayor of Almaty Darkhan Amangeldyuly Satybaldy and other officials.

Chen Wenqing stated that under the strategic guidance of President Xi Jinping and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, political mutual trust between China and Kazakhstan has been steadily deepening, exchanges and cooperation across all fields have been growing increasingly close, high-quality Belt and Road cooperation has yielded fruitful outcomes, and China-Kazakhstan relations have secured sustained leapfrog development. China and Kazakhstan are friendly neighbors linked by mountains and rivers and permanent comprehensive strategic partners sharing weal and woe, both standing at a critical stage of development and rejuvenation. China is ready to work hand in hand with Kazakhstan to advance law enforcement and security cooperation in an all-round manner, safeguard peace and tranquility of the two countries, consolidate the foundation of China-Kazakhstan friendship through diversified people-to-people exchanges, and deliver greater benefits to the two peoples.

The Kazakh side spoke highly of the outcomes of bilateral cooperation, commended China’s important role in addressing international security issues, and stated that Kazakhstan will continue to consolidate China-Kazakhstan friendship, and stands ready to deepen practical cooperation in law enforcement, security and other fields with China, and advance the continuous development of the permanent comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.
